BH Series – Motor Pumps
The TECNIUM BH Series Close-Coupled Pumps are specifically engineered for the transfer of corrosive and abrasive fluids. Manufactured entirely from solid thermoplastic materials, they deliver exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals and mechanical stress, ensuring long-lasting reliability in demanding industrial environments.

Motor coupled directly to the pump body, with no bearing bracket
The BH Series features a close-coupled motor configuration, eliminating the need for a separate bearing bracket and simplifying both installation and maintenance.
These pumps are machined from solid plastic blocks, providing excellent mechanical rigidity and dimensional stability under variable thermal and chemical conditions.
- Compact, integrated motor-pump design: for space-saving installations
- Solid thermoplastic construction: ensures chemical and corrosion resistance
- Optimised hydraulic design: smooth operation with low vibration levels
- Fully interchangeable with standard IEC motor frames
- Optional ATEX-certified versions available for explosive atmospheres

FAQs about the BH Series
The most common queries about monobloc motor pumps, direct coupling and compatibility with IEC motors.
What is the advantage of a monobloc motor pump compared with one mounted on a baseplate?
The monobloc configuration eliminates the bearing bracket and the coupling, reducing footprint, weight, cost and points of failure. The IEC motor drives the impeller directly through its own shaft (which also acts as the pump shaft), so alignment issues, misalignment-induced vibration and coupling wear all disappear. For services where the flow and head fit within the BH range, it is the most efficient option.
What does "compatible with standard IEC motors" mean?
The BH Series is designed to mate with any motor whose flange and dimensions follow the IEC standard — Siemens, ABB, WEG, Marelli and any European or international manufacturer that follows the standard. This lets you use motors from your usual supplier, source quick spares in any country, and change rating or efficiency class (IE3, IE4, IE5) without touching the pump.
What is the typical flow and head range?
The BH Series covers flow rates up to 250 m³/h (1,100 gpm) and heads up to 80 m (260 ft). For higher flow rates, the process option is the BN Series; for services that require special sealing, the external BV or the magnetic BKM. TECNIUM matches the curve to your duty point and recommends the optimum series.
When is the BH preferable to a BKM magnetic pump?
The BH uses a conventional mechanical seal, which is perfect for the majority of standard chemical services and represents a lower investment than the BKM. The magnetic BKM eliminates the mechanical seal and, with it, any seal leakage — it is the option when the fluid is highly toxic, very expensive, very hazardous or cannot tolerate any leakage (HCl, HF, solvents, pharmaceutical products). Where occasional seal weep is not critical, the BH delivers the best cost-to-performance ratio.
Can it be used in ATEX areas?
Yes. The BH Series is available in ATEX-certified versions according to Directive 2014/34/EU, with antistatic plastics where applicable, the corresponding ATEX motor and seal monitoring. This is the standard configuration in plants handling flammable solvents, refineries or chemical installations with hazardous area classification.
How is a BH maintained?
Typical maintenance consists of checking the mechanical seal when signs of dripping appear and replacing motor bearings according to the manufacturer’s schedule. With no coupling or baseplate, periodic alignment and the associated checks disappear. For replacements, the rotor assembly comes out as a single piece together with the motor, greatly simplifying the intervention.
