BHS Series – Vertical Motor Pumps
The TECNIUM BHS Series comprises close-coupled vertical plastic centrifugal pumps designed for the continuous transfer of corrosive and abrasive liquids in installations with limited space or where vertical mounting is required. Thanks to its compact, space-saving vertical design, the BHS combines robust construction, high chemical resistance and easy maintenance, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.

Vertical monobloc design integrating motor and hydraulic body
The BHS Series incorporates a vertical monobloc design that integrates the motor and the hydraulic body into a single compact assembly. This construction simplifies installation and maintenance with no loss of rigidity or pumping capability.
- Vertical centrifugal pump, single-stage
- Direct-coupled motor via a rigid coupling
- Solid thermoplastic construction for total corrosion resistance
- Suction and discharge design with flanges
- Low-footprint design and easy integration into existing systems
- Compliant with CE and ISO 9001 standards; ATEX versions available

Solid thermoplastics for maximum chemical compatibility
The BHS Series pumps are manufactured in solid thermoplastics to ensure maximum compatibility with corrosive, abrasive and chemically aggressive fluids. The choice of material depends on the chemical composition, temperature and mechanical load.
Mixed configurations are also available to optimise cost and performance, such as PP casings with wetted parts in PVDF.
FAQs about the BHS Series
The most common queries about the vertical monobloc motor pump, differences with other series and sizing.
What is the difference between BHS and BH?
Both are monobloc motor pumps, but the BHS is vertical while the BH is horizontal. The BHS occupies less floor space and is the option when horizontal space is limited or a directly upward discharge is required. Its range covers 90 m³/h and 50 m head, one step below the BH (250 m³/h, 80 m head) but with the advantage of vertical mounting.
When should I choose BHS over a vertical external BV or submerged BT?
The BHS is a vertical monobloc motor pump designed to integrate into process lines with limited space and vertical discharges — not to be installed inside a tank or pit. The BV and BT pumps have an internal column that goes inside a vessel or sump: the BV is mounted on the tank cover, the BT is submerged in pits up to 5.2 m. If you need a compact process motor pump with standard flanges and vertical discharge, the BHS is the right choice.
Which mechanical seal should I choose for my fluid?
For standard chemical services, the M seal (single external with gasket) is the most economical option. For hazardous, high-value fluids or services where leakage poses a risk, the DE (double external seal) allows control with a barrier fluid. The IP (internal SiC/SiC) offers maximum resistance to particles and temperature. The IPi (internal PTFE/Ceramic) is the choice for pure, highly inert chemicals.
What is the maximum operating temperature of the BHS?
The limit depends on the body material: PP up to ~85 °C, PVDF up to 90 °C, E-CTFE can reach higher values. For services close to the thermal limit, the combination of body and wetted parts materials is assessed together with the mechanical seal type to ensure reliability in continuous operation.
Is it supplied with standard flanges?
Yes, with suction and discharge flanges compatible with DIN or ANSI standards depending on the size. The exact configuration is defined per project based on the customer’s line connections. The plastic flanges are integrated into the pump body without metallic inserts in contact with the fluid.
Are ATEX versions available?
Yes, the BHS Series is available in ATEX versions according to Directive 2014/34/EU, with an ATEX motor, antistatic plastics where applicable and proper earthing. This is the typical configuration in plants handling flammable solvents or classified chemical processes.
