Vertical External Pumps
Heavy-duty vertical pumps for corrosive and abrasive fluids
The BV Vertical Outdoor Tank Pumps from Tecnium are designed for the safe and efficient handling of corrosive and abrasive liquids directly from storage tanks or outdoor installations. Constructed entirely from solid thermoplastic materials, these pumps deliver excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals and environmental exposure while ensuring continuous, maintenance-free operation.

Design and Construction
The BV Vertical Series is built according to ISO 5199 process pump standards, combining mechanical robustness with optimal hydraulic performance.
- Hydrodynamic sealing system eliminates the need for mechanical seals, ensuring leak-free operation.
- Dry-running design allows the pump to operate safely even when the liquid level fluctuates or the suction line empties.
- Compact vertical configuration ideal for direct installation on outdoor tanks, minimising footprint and piping requirements.
- Built in solid plastic with steel reinforcements for dimensional stability and vibration resistance.
- Optional ATEX-certified versions are available for explosive atmospheres.
Performance and Range
- Flow rate: up to 1,200 m³/h (5,280 gpm)
- Head: up to 100 mcl (328 ft)
- Design: vertical, direct-coupled motor configuration
- Sealing system: hydrodynamic (no mechanical seal required)
- Operation: continuous duty, dry-running capable
This combination of flow capacity and sealing technology makes the BV Vertical ideal for heavy-duty chemical transfer and environmental protection systems.
Applications
Tecnium BV Vertical Pumps are specifically designed for industrial sectors where corrosion, abrasion, and reliability are critical factors:
- Chemical and petrochemical industries – transfer of acids, alkalis, solvents, and process effluents
- Mining and metallurgy – handling abrasive or corrosive slurries
- Water and wastewater treatment (WWTPs) – recirculation and neutralisation circuits
- Surface finishing and electroplating – acid and alkaline bath management
- Environmental and pollution control – tank discharge and scrubber support systems
