Process Pumps – BV Series

Standardised chemical process pumps for corrosive and abrasive fluids

The BV Horizontal Process Pumps from Tecnium are designed for the continuous transfer of corrosive and abrasive liquids under demanding industrial conditions. Constructed in solid thermoplastic materials, they offer exceptional resistance to chemical attack and mechanical wear, ensuring safe and long-lasting operation in aggressive environments.

Plastic Horizontal Tecnium Pumps Model BV

Design and Construction

The BV Series is engineered in compliance with ISO 5199 standards for process pumps.
This horizontal end-suction design integrates a flanged motor frame, allowing direct coupling between motor and pump for compact installation and improved alignment stability.

  • Modular construction allows quick access to internal components without disconnecting suction or discharge pipes.
  • The design ensures mechanical robustness, low vibration, and optimal hydraulic efficiency.
  • The pump casing and impeller are machined from solid blocks of thermoplastic, guaranteeing dimensional stability and perfect sealing integrity.

Performance and Range

  • Flow rate: up to 90 m³/h (396 gpm)
  • Head: up to 80 mcl (262 ft)
  • Configuration: single-stage, end-suction, back pull-out design
  • Seal type: adaptable to most commercial mechanical seals
  • Drive type: flanged motor frame (direct coupling)
  • Standards: ISO 5199 / CE Machinery Directive compliant
  • ATEX versions: available upon request

These pumps are designed for continuous industrial duty, delivering consistent performance even in processes involving high temperatures, abrasive slurries, or aggressive chemical mixtures.

Applications

The BV Series is particularly suitable for the following industries and processes:

  • Chemical and petrochemical industries – transfer of acids, alkalis, and solvents
  • Water and wastewater treatment (WWTPs) – chemical dosing, recirculation, neutralisation
  • Surface treatment and electroplating – handling of aggressive baths and rinsing agents
  • Mining and metal processing – slurry transport and corrosive effluents
  • Fertiliser and acid production – reliable operation with high-density, corrosive fluids

Mechanical Seal Options

The BV Series can accommodate a wide range of mechanical seals to ensure compatibility with the chemical and thermal properties of the handled fluid:

  • IP: internal single mechanical seal (SiC/SiC)
  • IF: internal single mechanical seal (PTFE/Ceramic)
  • SF: external single mechanical seal (PTFE/Ceramic)
  • DE: double external mechanical seal

The mechanical seal chamber is designed to isolate stresses from the plastic casing, extending service life and improving reliability under continuous operation.
